Todd, I think this is the #1 response from my list of three. A better
response would be to say:
In Evolution:
* Edit -> Message Filters
* Add
* Sender contains -> ttmrichter at gmail.com
* Delete
* OK
This gives us #2: a directly useful response for the immediate problem.
This adds any message from a user you don't like (Michael T.
Richter in this case) to a list of emails that gets
automatically deleted. If you're using another mailer like
Thunderbird, there are similar commands but I can't directly
help you with those because I don't use them. A quick pass at
Google for "<mailer name> message filter" will likely find you
similar instructions there. Further you'll find that judicious
use of such message filters will make all but the most violently
flame-ridden mailing lists livable thus allowing you to
participate in more of them without seeing words and concepts
that upset and/or offend you.
This gives us #3: information and pointers to ideas that can make the
user more productive and happy in the long term.
I encourage, incidentally, anybody else who's offended by me, my ideas,
my words or my attitude to make liberal use of this technique.
