It is an ugly hack but you can use sox as a workaround. Lave this
running in the background:

$ sox -t ossdsp -w -c2 -r 32000 /dev/dsp2 -t ossdsp /dev/dsp

then open your tv app. Further explantion here:

Also, you may need to load saa7134-alsa

# modprobe saa7134-alsa

This hack works ok, but alas you won't be able to record mpegs with
audio. If you can figure out how to record audio as well, I'd be very
interested.
