How to develope programs in Ubuntu using C

Use your favourite text editor to write the C code. Then open a terminal 
and compile with:

gcc -Wall prog.c -o prog

This turns your code "prog.c" into the executable "prog". Try this wit a 
"Hello world" program first:

#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>

int main ()
{
     printf("Hello world\n");
     return(0);
}
