Dapper (F6) Upgrade problems

Hello,

I am using Dapper installed from the flight6 cd. Once a week or so I was
upgrading the packages the ubuntu repositories. Everything was fine.

Today's upgrade has thrown a problem. After 10 minutes or so the machine
locks up. The keyboard does not function, screen locks up. Only a hard
reset works. Is this a bug? I will try disabling X and make sure whether
the problem is X/gnome specific. If anyone has noticed similar
behaviour, are there any workarounds?
