Good info! I found the additional layouts you mentioned under
System->Preferences->Keyboard and added Swiss German.
Now if I could just figure out how to get a shifted (upper case) Umlaut,
I would be a very happy chappy.
Of course, keyboard macros in OpenOffice would be even better...
