Ubuntu OpenOffice broken?

As suggested, I went to the OpenOffice forum and asked about the 
rectangles in the Hebrew spelling suggestions. Within a short time, it 
was suggested I check in the Tools/Preferences what the default font 
was. I did, and unchecked "use system font". That did the trick. Now I 
have a working Hebrew speller.
