Switching from Command line to GUI

The server install is not supposed to have a GUI. For a server, GUIs are 
a major waste of resources. If you want a GUI you should pick "desktop" 
(which, I think, is the default).

To install a GUI you can probably do this:

sudo aptitude install gnome ubuntu-desktop
