gnome login fails

Hi Colin, 

Try removing all the gnome settings files:

.gconf  .gconfd  .gnome  .gnome2  .gnome2_private  .nautilus



If this does not help you can try to copy the above files from the
temporary account you created. Just remember to "chown -R" all the
directories to set proper ownership rules. 

I'm not a gnome expert but it seems this is just an accout specyfic
problem and should be fairly easy to fix. BTW, how did this happen?
