ubuntu-friendly broadband?

Most places don't actually "support" Linux, but Linux will work
anyways. If you have a friend who has that broadband co., bring your
computer over and just check it out. The internet works on pretty
solidly defined standards, so it's unlikely that the internet co. in
your town has their own. 





One possibility: Some companies "require" a windows computer to
register your account the first time you log on to it. Even if they say
they require it, they can probably do this registration over the phone.
