They are extortion. They are not blackmail.

Not all extortion is wrong. "Drop the gun, release the hostages or
we'll blow your brains out" is extortion and it is justifiable. So are
many (not all!) strikes.

So.... wildcat strikes are legal?
Not all strikes are legal (nor even moral). All strikes are extortion,
however. "Do what we want or we'll hurt your business" is pure
extortion. If what you want is fair, the extortion is justified. If
you are in a legal strike position it is even legal. It remains,
nonetheless, extortion.
Keeping it on topic, what the kubuntu.de people are doing is not
blackmail. It is extortion. Singularly inept extortion, but extortion
nonetheless. Just like a strike.
