Somehow it seems this discussion just continues and continues without
getting anywhere because people ignore what is being said. I gave you
this link days ago, which exactly addresses the issue:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HomeUserBackup
I also gave the link to the Dapper status report which says that this
solution is on track for Dapper, which will be released in ca. 2 months:
https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-devel-announce/2006-March/000108.html
I still agree with your point that there should be a simple backup
system for simple users in place, and it's bad that there isn't one
right now. But I totally don't understand your continued complaints
about "Wouldn't it be more awesome if "Linux for Human Beings", given
how important everybody here is saying backing up is!, would have a
backup system in place that didn't require the user to learn Mystic
Incantations<tm>", etc.
Nobody from the Ubuntu team denied that it would be awesome, in fact
they think it is so important that a solution is being coded for Dapper.
Why is this thread than still continuing as if all this hadn't happened?
I don't try to be a prick, it's a serious question.
