eth0 failed to come up after upgrade to Breezy - HELP -

When the same problem happened to me I ended up solving it by changing
/etc/iftab to:
eth0 mac 00:13:D4:C2:41:99
There was previously a bogus MAC address assigned to eth0 that was added during
the upgrade. Obviously your MAC address will be different.
