MP3 to MIDI ?

Hi Everybody,

I have a lot of MP3 and MIDI files. I would like to make ring
tones out of some of them for my Nokia 3220.

The problem is, I can't find a software that can convert an
MP3 to MIDI. I do understand that MP3 to MIDI conversion is a
tough task and so far I have found no suitable free software
that can do that.

More importantly, even the MIDIs that I do have
don't seem to be recognized by my mobile (although timidity
plays them well on my ubuntu breezy system).

After some searching I found that mobiles seem to be able
to recognize a variation of MIDI called S-MIDI. I am not sure
what that is, but could you suggest any software in Linux that
can convert my MIDI files to S-MIDI format?
