firefox 1.0.7-0ubuntu0.1_i386 update error

I had the same problem. I was just trying to catch up with the updates
(93 of them) and synaptic choked on the firefox update. (it wouldn't go
from 1.06 to 1.07)



After reading this thread I ran the command killall firefox-bin and the
old firefox 1.06 started. I was then able to complete the update.



In the meantime I downloaded Epiphany to use as a browser and boy has
it come a long way. In fact, I may use it instead of Firefox.
