Yes, unfortunately there is nothing that I know of for this yet,
although it is being worked on. Project Farsight looks promising:

if you really want to use webcams then you can use Gnome-meeting to
connect to Windows Netmeeting, its not integrated into an instant
messenger, but could solve the problem short term
