Making a Grub boot cd

I have ubuntu installed on my system along with XP, but I've had a heck of a
time trying to get grub working. I can boot to linux by using the install cd
and reconfiguring the bootloader, but this prevents XP from booting
correctly. I've tried several different solutions to no avail. What I'd like
to do now is install grub on a bootable CD (I don't have a floppy drive). I
have two questions:

1. The grub documentation that I found lists a description on how to make a
boot floppy. Can I follow the same instructions except substitute my cd
drive for the floppy during that sequence of steps?

2. Right now I have my system booting straight to XP since I've had a lot of
work-related stuff to do as of late. Is it possible to create the Grub boot
cd from within XP? I can reconfigure one last time to do it from linux, but
if it's possible to create it from XP it would make it a little easier.

Thanks.

Richard
