Bizarre! I wonder why they put it there if it doesn't work?

I've done something similar with the latest Orinoco driver, which
supports scanning, but not monitoring. I was hoping to find a package
based solution because at the moment, I have to recompile and install
the driver every time there is a kernel upgrade!

I'm not familiar with these tools anyway, but I can down load a tar ball
and recompile!
