Breezy update 21-Sept breakages

Been having similar problems to others:
- mice disappeared (/dev/input/mice -> /dev/input/mouse0)
- synaptic touchpad driver disappeared (can't find a module for it  
anywhere)
- /dev/psaux disappeared (used to be for synaptics touchpad)
- intel ipw2100 firmware disappeared (/usr/lib/hotplug is empty)

I am running on a Mitac 8060b notebook.

Not only did X break, but my network connection died too, so I can't  
get any updated packages...
