Hard Drive Check Forced

I too am a student and have had issues with this. it is very
embarrassing to say the least. Is there a way to program one of these
things to happen sometime at night or something? I dont want to disable
the check, but I would like to be able to control it more. For example,
I usually leave my laptop on at night. This would be a perfect time for
it to restart (if it must) and do the check. Any ideas on how I could go
about accomplishing this?
