Hello Everybody,
Yesterday I downloaded and installed Breezy Preview. Everything
working fine. I really liked the boot screen. Hardware detection
was perfect as ever. Besides, the desktop appeared at the highest
resolution (1024x768) supported by my monitor the very first time
unlike in Hoary where I had to manually provide the refresh rates
in the xorg.conf file.
However, I would like some things to be fixed. I don't know whether they are
Ubuntu related or Gnome related. For example, in Rhythmbox, when
importing a folder using the file selection dialog, previously I could
select
multiple folders (by clicking on folders kepping the Control key pressed),
but now, I can't do this! This has caused me to open the import folder
option several times. Not a huge problem, but irritating nonetheless.
Also, talking of multiple item selection, I liked the way panel applets
are added in GNOME 2.12, but here again, I would like to be able
to select multiple applets to be added in one go.
I love the Clearlook theme, and use the Olive variant of it. But I find that
missing in Breezy.
I also have several books in the CHM format, and I really miss a good
CHM file viewer. I would like to see Gnochm included in a default install
of Ubuntu. I know it is perhaps too late to say this, but maybe in the
next release....
Other than these, I can't think of anything else right now. I am still
exploring the system.
Overall, a great job guys. A million thanks for giving us such a wonderful
system.
Regards,
Santanu
