i strongly disagree here, neither my girlfriend nor my pareants have
edited their xorg.conf/xfree86.conf since warty, what should be the
rationale for editing that file if the settings are correct and the
display is running fine ? if the autodetection doesnt work or the tools
that modify the file for binary drivers dont regenerate the md5sum,
thats a bug and you should rather file it than working around it by
fiddling with your xorg.conf, this way it wont ever get fixed for
anyone.
