Hi,
I'm trying to set up an ubuntu machine as an ldap backend for user
authentication. I've found several informal howtos that generally
apply debian and/or ubuntu, but they all seem to be incomplete or
inaccurate. After following all the information I've found, I've not
got a patially working setup. Among other problems, gdm hangs on
authentication, but console authentication works.
There don't appear to be any howtos on the Ubuntu forums or the wiki
for either client or server configuration for ldap authentication.
Can someone point me to an accurate howto for how to configure an
ubuntu system as an ldap server, and for how to configure an ubuntu
client to authenticate against the ldap server?
Thanks
