Are laptop scripts working fine?

Hallo!

I'm using kubuntu 5.04 with security updates on a laptop. I've got 2
questions I hope you can answer me:

1. I was working on battery, then I've plugged AC in, but it still thinks it's
working in battery (but klaptop icon shows it's on ac):
-----
root at quinipt:/var/lib/acpi-support# cat powerstate
BATTERY
-----
Is that normal? Should I worry? 8-?

2. I'd like to add 2 scripts at suspend/resume... what's the smartest way?
Maybe modifying /etc/acpi/ scripts?

TIA ;)
