output of netstat

Hello all
i came across the command 'netstat' today. yes, i am still a newbie.
the output was as shown below.
1. what should i think about the entry 'data-pirates.org:8000' ?
2. or about 'lefkada.eecs.harva:9001' ?
3. do i have to configure finally Firewall Firestarter manually ?
