This might be obvious, but you've enabled "universe" and/or
"multiverse" repositories right? With those enabled I see a little
over 18,000 packages. Aside from those, the only repositories that
haven't acted "goofy" for me are the ones for the backports project.
The hoary-backports repo probably isn't useful if you're using Breezy,
but the hoary-extras has, well... so extra stuff in it. :o)

Perhaps we could give some better suggestions if you told us what
software you're looking for.
