(Breezy) Regenerate alsa dmix config

I just upgraded from Hoary to Breezy and I'm having choppy sound. 
Under Hoary, I changed alsa's configuration (asound.conf) to enable
dmix.  I know that Breezy sets it up automatically but it didn't
because it was not the original configuration.

Is there a way to make Breezy configure my soundcard as if it were
just installed?
