Webcam

Hi,
 
How do I use my Logitech Laptop USB Quickcam with Hoary on a Dell Inspiron 9300? This might be 3 different problems:
1> Use it to take snapshots
2> Use it to take video
3> Use it for chat on amsn
 
I tried some stuff with the qc driver etc, but I get a /dev/video no such device error.
