ejecting ipod shuffle

I have an ipod shuffle, and on Breezy when I go to unplug it, I right
click the ipod icon, and select unmount, and the device is unmounted,
but I get an eject error box:

Unable to eject media
eject: unable to eject, last error: Invalid argument


no response in syslog.  I unplug the shuffle and I get a usb
disconnect message in syslog.

would like to know how to actually eject the shuffle.  (it works fine
with gtkpod)

(just tested my 4g ipod and it suffers from the same thing)

everything seems to work now when I replug it in (minus the eject)
however I've had issues in the past with scsi io loop issues. so would
like to know how to actually eject these things
