Installation - Have ethernet card on computer but not connected to network.

I assume you mean that you are going to use dial-up rather than ethernet? 
>From my limited experience the install will look for something on the 
ethernet (DHCP) but when it can't find anything there, it will complain 
and give you some options. I seem to remember it times out after 30 
seconds or so. Not sure if that answers your question.
