iPaq Ubuntu?

I'm getting tired of Familiar being so broken that the last few "stable"
releases had unworking gstreamer crap and thus neither Opie nor GPE
could supply a functional media player for MP3 and/or Ogg Vorbis. Not
to mention the limited functionality on a PDA, albeit small system.

Are there any plans for an Ubuntu embedded system for PDAs like the iPaq
h3600 or h5500 series? Or is there a significant interest in the
audience? I can't really develop it so I wouldn't want to lead (I hate
leading projects I'm not doing anything in); but if there's 5-10 people
that would be willing to work on such a thing, getting a little group
together may be an option.

Right now I'm pondering how to fit Rhythmbox on a screen that small and
keep it looking very nice. I'm thinking a dynamic UI would be a good
way to go (UI changes based on the user's immediate activity); although
since the touch screen isn't going to hover cursor, it's limited to
tap-to-change. I'd prefer things like changing the UI when the mouse
hovers over something; for example, picture Firefox sliding the side bar
or Sage feed list out when the mouse enters the left edge of the window.
 Not possible on a touchscreen.

Any takers? Wishlist or volunteers, just speak up and be counted.
