You also need to set up the linux box to forward the traffic, which means
modifying iptables. This site

http://www.harbaum.org/till/palm/bluetooth/index.html

discusses that for the case of a palm/bluetooth/linux connection, which
helped me to get it working with Treo 650/bluetooth/ubuntu hoary.

Since you already seem to have a connection, you probably only need to do
the iptables part which I don't think applies to a palm only, and I'm
guessing this would work for your axim.

hope this helps, Henk
