I was just reading the man page for aliases noting the following.




    An alias definition has the form


          /name/: /value1/, /value2/, /.../

So if I'm reading this correctly, I'd use the following for root mail to
go to Dick and Jane.

    root: dick, jane


Is that the syntax you used in your aliases file?
