sudo not working at all

Two things.  One, I would question the security of your system and your
passwords at this point.  A sudo laying around in /usr/local/bin is
normally a bad thing.  Especially if you don't know how it got there.
Everytime you typed sudo and put in your password, your password could
have been compromised.  It would be interesting to know who owned that
copy of sudo.

Also, you should check your path.  It should have /bin and /usr/bin at
the front(potentially /sbin and /usr/sbin should be in front of them).
This will cause bash to look in those places first, thus making sure
rogue copies of binaries can't fool you into putting in your password.
