can't startx

i installed ubuntu5.10 x86
and using hp 2202 notebook
radeon x200 displaycard
when i startx,give some error like this:
ERROR RADEON(0):[dri]DRIScreenInit failed. Disabling DRI

i looking at my /dev/dri/
there no file in /dev/dri

who can tell me how to resolve it
