I tried to the same thing to no avail too. I did post on www.ubuntulinux at yahoogroups.com tp ask the same question you are asking too. Cripes I went to the unofficial guide and has no info on mounting a floppy. I like usiing a floppy to save some word docs for back up. Doug -- deadgobby
