Can't see my Windows partition from within applications

BTW, nls=utf8 is not a recommended for FAT partitions. If you add it, 
you get warning during startup saying that "UTF8 is not recommended as 
it makes the file system case sensitive". My /etc/fstab entry is like this:

/dev/hdc2                     /mnt/FAT        vfat 
defaults,user,suid,umask=000,shortname=mixed 0  0
