shorewall is in main, at least on i386, most other products mentioned
in this thread aren't.

Do you use Universe or not I believe depends on how you're going to
use the machine and what data will be stored there. As an indirect
example, the number of workstations in the world is larger that the
number of servers, but this does not mean that all approaches commonly
used to configure workstations are applicable for a server.
