Sound not working as expected

Hello.

I have a toshiba M10 centrino laptop. My sound card is detected as 'Intel 82801DB-ICH4'. I'm using breezy. Even though the sound works, only one application can use the 'sound stream' at one point. Therefore, for example, opening skype, while I am listening to music, means Skype will 'not work' (I can not utilize the sound card).

I suspect there is some type of driver (kernel module? configuration?) that will help 'stream' multiple sound sources to my sound card. How do I do it?
