OS X/Ubuntu/GnuLinux and cost

Well, no, that's not at all my point ;-)

Dennis said that he dedicates a lot of time to Linux, and that that time
is more valuable than the money it would cost to buy windows. You then
suggested that the same amount of Dennis's time would be dedicated to
whatever operating system he uses. I was pointing out that this is not
necessarily the case: it's a lot easier to put your valuable time into
Ubuntu.

I certainly wasn't suggesting that Dennis would spend the extra money to
get the extra level of interaction with Microsoft developers and support
that he gets with Ubuntu. He would probably instead, give a lot less,
leaving his time payout for Windows much closer to the retail cost.
