Synaptic segmentation fault

I'm using Breezy and have been keeping up with updating the system. All 
has gone well until tonight when after doing an update and rebooting 
Synaptic stopped working. When I try to start it from the terminal (sudo 
synaptic) it says there is a segmentation fault. How do I fix this?
