Skype made a major blunder in their latest (22.214.171.124) debian packages.
I've been trying to convince them to change their packages without luck.
You have a couple of options:
Install one of the two tar.bz2 versions, one of which can be obtained
Install this old version (126.96.36.199) using dpkg:
