updating ubuntu on dial up modem

Hey everyone...

Installed Ubuntu 5.04... So far so good. 

Added unverse to repository list and well after a few weeks did check
for update and have about 105 packages to update. With a sloooowwww dail
up looks like over a day down load. 


I thought about unchecking packages and only doing a few at a time but
dang a lot of packaged to uncheck on the sympatico update screen. Is
there a way to uncheck all at once or other options to handle updates on
slow dial up?

I have access to a faster line at work and could burn updates to cd but
not sure where to down load repostories... Perhaps too large anyway.
