Building LFS with Ubuntu host.

I am attempting to build LFS using Ubuntu 5.10 as a host.  I am 
having trouble getting a proper development environment set up on 
Ubuntu.  Part of my confusion is different names; e.g LFS 
requires a package called Diffutils which appears to be the 
Ubuntu package Diff and LFS requires Glibc which appears to be 
the Ubuntu package Libc6.  Does anyone know if I am correct is 
these assumptions?  And if not, then where might I find the 
Ubuntu equivalents of Diffutils and Glibc?
