Getting frustrated with Ubuntu....

OK guys! You win!

Last night I chucked it all and installed the full version of Ubuntu.

Everything works fine now, but then I had no doubt that it would. :)

I was hoping to be able to strip it down until I only had the things I
wanted -- that's why I started with the server install. I hoped I would
be able to just install the stuff I wanted. That's what I thought Linux
was all about -- total control.

I guess I bit off more than I could chew.

I'll use Ubuntu, and I'll like using it, but I won't stop screwing
around with it. If I screw something up, it takes fifteen minutes to
reinstall.

I'll also have a longer, harder look at LFS and some of the other
options mentioned.

The forums (fora?), the Wiki and the people on this mailing list have
far surpassed the help I could find with any other distro I've played
with over the years. Enough so to keep me at it for a while!

Thanks to all for the education!
