Areca/Tekram ARC-1220 RAID controller working with Breezy?

Anyone had any luck getting Areca/Tekram ARC-1220 RAID controller 
working with Breezy?

I thought the driver has been in the kernel since 2.6.11 or so but I can 
not find the requisite arcmsr module.

Anyone know if any Ubuntu kernels coming down the pike have support for 
this controller? Know where else I could ask?

Areca provides drives for RedHat, SuSE, etc. but my only option for 
Ubuntu/Debian seems to be using their driver source and building a 
custom kernel.  I really don't want to have to do that.

Anyone have notes on how to build just an Areca module? (maybe ala 
module-assistant like nvidia driver?)
