Hi,
I just did a dist-upgrade today from breezy to dapper and I have one problem:
the "good" nVidia driver won't load.
Everything works ok with the plain old 'nv' driver in my xorg.conf
except for all the bonus features (dual screen, OpenGL support) I
want. ;)
The kernel nvidia module loads on boot
Then xorg fails with this:
(II) LoadModule: "nvidia"
(WW) Warning, couldn't open module nvidia
(II) UnloadModule: "nvidia"
(EE) Failed to load module "nvidia" (module does not exist, 0)
The packages:
nvidia-glx - NVIDIA binary XFree86 4.x/X.Org driver
linux-restricted-modules-2.6.12-10-amd64-k8-smp
are installed and up to date (According to apt)
AMD 3800+ X2, GeForce 6800GS, Nforce4 Board.
Linux ambient 2.6.12-10-amd64-k8-smp #1 SMP Fri Nov 18 12:20:27 UTC
2005 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Any ideas?
Thanks.
