Filing bug reports: What's the point?

What's the point?

I filed one a month ago and no developer response so far.

Then after a while when I noticed it was going nowhere, I figured maybe 
I should have filed it on launchpad so...

As of this writing both bug reports have seemingly been ignored.

I don't get it.
