Screen resolution

Hello,

I have upgraded to Breezy recently and all went well. However I do have a
problem getting my screen resolution to stick. I have gone into System ->
Preferences -> screen resolution, put it to what I need, and say that I
want that as default for this computer. However whenever I boot up, it
goes back to the old resolution. (I get the queer situation that the panel
sits in the middle of my desktop for a while while it adjusts back to what
it want sot do.)

How can I make this persist? Will I have to edit the xorg.conf? And what
is the safe way of doing this?
