emacs cut and paste

I don't have x-select-enable-clipboard enabled (and the other one is
the default value) and have no problem in copying to/from emacs or
gnome-terminal (if that is what you mean by text mode?) neither in
Warty/Cygwin nor Breezy (running in a Virtual Server).
