xterm not honoring ~/.X11/app-defaults

Are you sure? I'm not an X11 expert, but I have never heard of
~/.X11/app-defaults (at least under Linux). I'm only knowing
/usr/lib/X11/app-defaults/, /etc/X11/app-defaults/ (a relative new one)
and ~/.Xdefaults.
